Sick today

Can i help you?
thank you!
you make me feely  happy.
you are a special person. god loves you.

When Mark and I started our work, he had been sick in the morning (throwing up)...he was pretty unmotivated to work and finally did do some good typing.  Then, we went to Walmart and when we got home, he threw up again...so, looks like I will be keeping him home from school tomorrow...

Typed an independent sentence!

did kitty little they please
please please make pizza (independent)
A frog splash in the  water.
max has a splinter has in has hand.
the carpenter cut a thin strip of plastic.
the dog scratches back .

Mark did such a great job today.  It brought tears to my eyes.  I can tell that he is starting to "get" how the sentences go together.  I have always said that it takes about 6 months for Mark to learn something new and we have been working on this for 6 months.  I was so worried because last week he kept saying "school" when it was time to type.  I didn't want this to become something that was more work than fun for him.

This Non-Verbal Teen Gave His School’s Graduation Speech With The Help Of His Tablet — Amazing!

As a non-verbal teen with autism, Dillan Barmache’s ideas remained trapped inside his head for years. From a young age, his inability to express himself increased Dillan’s anxiety — his family knew he was desperate to communicate that he was more than the few sounds that left his lips.
Today, Dillan’s thoughts are spilling out and inspiring audiences thanks to his tablet computer. In spring 2014, Dillan gave the commencement address at his school’s graduation ceremony.

Typing his own version...

floor boat must horse where
i ride bike. rip Page?
dad a fine dinner.
The man was gentle and kind.

So, today, Mark and I were doing some worksheets.  He filled in the blank and than we read the sentence.  Then, I wanted him to type the sentence without looking at it.  Usually, I prompt him heavily through the procedure so he remembers all the words.  Today, I did not give him so many prompts.

He did good with trying to remember the sentence and also did good with typing new words!

Can you fix the puppets head?

Mr. Dan and Mark worked really well last night...typing 10 sentences!  I think this is a record for typing with Mr. Dan.  The motivator...a trip to McDonalds!  When they got there, they placed their order and then they said that if Mr. Dan would "dance", the meal would be free!  You may have seen this being advertised as their Act of Kindness campaign...too funny!
