Calm before the storm...

I am writing this in retrospect.  The reason Mark was so calm is that he was getting sick...this video was actually taken on January 28th and he was sick the week following this...

Reduced trial number...

...trying to work on prompt fading.  Mark was very calm today.  He did go jumping this afternoon so maybe that helped...

I need to sit up straighter...

Trying to get back to our trials...Mark was a little difficult to get calmed down at the beginning but we finally got going.  He did better with the drawing than I thought he might!

Not sure what happened...I had 2 videos but one just would not upload to YouTube and I just don't have time to mess around with it so only the one video today...

Starting on our programs...

Mark and I started some programs yesterday.  We have 5 identified but only made it through 3 on this day.  Mark and I both have colds and are not feeling 100%...

Another assessment

So, we completed the next assessment...it was more difficult than the first but I feel like we have a great assessment and will be able to use this for our future work!

Assessment...

It's been a long time.  Things are just not working out to do any work in the morning.  It is a real challenge to just get Mark out of bed.  So, I think we are going to have to start "working" in the evening.  He is kind of driving us stir crazy in the evenings anyway.

Also, we are going to be getting some new direction from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).  This will be a big change in how Mark and I work.  To begin, we were given an assessment to determine Mark's needs.  Here is a video of the assessment:

Nate, the BCBA, will analyze the data and decide on a good way to go with programming...

Spelling 10/4/17

Mom made beef stew for dinner. Mary drew a picture of mom.

Found our old camera for videotaping (yeah! I thought it was lost in the move) and did a little spelling and sentences...

Typing 10/2/17

So, no video today. The iPod was not cooperating. Mark's blue iPad (that we usually use for typing) needed to go to the shop because the volume button was broken (the volume would not go down...only up!) I thought we had bought it 2 years ago in January so I wasn't in any hurry (it has a 2 year warranty) but I had some extra time last Friday morning so I decided to look up the details. Boy, I was surprised to find out that we purchased it on October 3, 2015 and had only 2 days left on warranty! I quickly got it sent off. I say all this because we did not have our usual app to do spelling so we did some sentences...

The moose eat grass. i have a hood on my shirt. a fawn is a baby deer. My favorite book is if you take a mouse to school.

Mark came at me aggressively yesterday afternoon. Luckily, I could see it building up and I had given him some medication so when it happened, he backed off right away. He went to our guest bedroom and then fell asleep at like 5:00Pm in the afternoon. He then woke up at 4:00AM ready to go for the day and must have been feeling better because he was super playful this morning. I was even able to capture some of it on the video. Or I thought I did but then I noticed that the iPod was not working right. It needs an update so hopefully that will fix the problem. The ups and downs of hormones and technology...ugh...

Spelling 9/28/17

I got Mark to bed at a decent time for once and so he was up but not really in the mood to work but we did do a little spelling and did type a sentence.  My recording device ran out of room so the video was cut short...

We're back...maybe...

I know it has been MONTHS since we typed but we have been busy with managing behaviors and moving to our new home/farm.

Mark's sleep schedule has been all messed up too.  We are working hard to get back into the routine of school and waking up at 7:30AM.  I am hopeful that getting back into a routine will be good for him.

So, this morning he got up and we were finished with breakfast so we started just a little, tiny bit of some spelling on a new app...not sure I really like it but it was a good start for us to sit down and "work".

Not promising that we are going to be back on a regular schedule but it is a good start...
