Today (and tomorrow), I am taking part in a training about customized employment.  So, I didn't have time to work with Mark today.  Joshua did 2 lessons with Annie...

Summer school Day 4

Joshua went back and looked at the lessons that he had trouble with.  Then, he took the test again and passed!  I think we will not do "schooling" on Fridays because we usually go to the river and I have to pack our picnic...

Mark was having a hard time focusing today.  We did finally manage to get a little work in...

Summer school day 3...

Joshua was really tired today and we had to do a test on his spelling.  He did good and it helped to identify some places that we need to work on...

Mark did great and we did do some typing after we played with a matching app first...

Day 2 of summer vacation typing went well

Mark did great with his new phonics book that we are working through.  He knew how to spell all the words!  Starting with short a sounds...
cab ant van apple map pan hand add can ham cap ax
An ant is very tiny.
Can you hand dad the bag?

Joshua is doing amazing with the spelling phonics...fingers crossed that this continues.  I think it helps that we go out and jump on the trampoline before we sit down to "work".  Then, we only work about 15 minutes...it is summer after all...

Starting our summer program...

Hello!  We have been away on vacation to visit cousins in Kansas!

Now, we are back and ready to get serious about some summer "work".

I am also posting some work I am doing with Joshua...working on spelling through a phonics based system.  Joshua also read for 15 minutes.  We had purchased some Minecraft books last year and the school would not let him read them for AR...so, he will read them this summer!  The spelling app we are using is called Simplex Spelling.

Typed his dad's name...

...Mark had an evaluation for an augmentative device a couple of days ago.  At one point, the tester asked Mark what his dad's name was.  Mark said "hen he".  The tester did not know Mark's dad's name and she could not understand what Mark was saying.  So, she asked him to type it and he did perfectly!  I was super excited.  This is why I am trying to teach him to type!!!

This is our lesson from yesterday.  I got busy with planting sunflowers in the afternoon and never got around to putting this up.  So, I am just going to post this today.  We did work this morning but, to be honest, not so exciting so I think I am going to pass on putting the video up.

I have decided to try and do more of the Camp Discovery tests...try not to jump around between too many apps so there is more continuity.
